The Dental Implant Process
Getting a dental implant involves several steps that occur over three to six months, beginning with a consultation with Dr. Mohr. During this visit, he'll:
- Evaluate your oral health to see if we need to address any issues, such as gum disease, before referring you for an implant.
- Describe your tooth replacement options
- Take digital x-rays to evaluate bone structure
- Explain how dental implants work and answer your questions
- Refer you to a trusted specialist for further evaluation and implant placement
During implant surgery, the specialist carefully positions the titanium posts in the jawbone. The placement is followed by three to six months of healing as the implant integrates with the bone.
Throughout this process, Dr. Mohr works closely with the oral surgeon to monitor your progress. Once the implants have fully integrated, you'll return to Pampa Dental Arts for the final restoration (crown, bridge, or denture).
